Welcome to Ricks Links
Thanks for visiting this site!!!
My name is Rick Samara and I am a full time Internet marketer. I am also a huge proponent of WordPress and HostGator. I use the HostGator “baby” account which allows me to host an unlimited number of WordPress sites. The major search engines (Google, Yahoo, and MSN Bing) are said to love WordPress; particularly Google, which is the most challenging of the three for Internet marketers.
I believe Google actually does love WordPress, but I do not think they love it solely based on WordPress’s own inherent merits. WordPress has a ton of extremely useful plugin scripts that enhance it’s effectiveness.
One of these plugins is “Pretty Links.” Pretty Links provides WordPress users a method of changing the Permalinks or page/blog characteristics to make them more search engine friendly.
There is another fantastic function that Pretty Links provides that is really the sole focus of this site. Pretty Links enables the site owner to cloak, shorten, and manage all the affiliate links that a Internet marketer has in his/her sales arsenal. An Internet marketer advertises, markets and promotes various products based on his/her affiliate relationships with various companies.

An Affiliate marketer can have hundreds of affiliate arrangements, and each one is a potential income source. There are many alternate ways to cloak, shorten, and manage these links. As an Internet marketer develops their business, they traditionally use many of these services. So, their business is spread out and their links hard to manage.
Pretty Links solves that problem! An Internet marketer can now consolidate and track their affiliate link performance in one secure location. I purchased this domain for that express purpose. My domain registration costs for one year is $15; certainly a modest price to pay for so much convenience.
Incidentally, this plugin is completely free and available to anyone with a WordPress site. You can get a WordPress site at www.wordpress.org. And, you can add this free plugin by following these simple steps:
1. Scroll down to Plugins. Click it.
2. Click on Add New.
3. In the Search Box, type in Pretty Links, then click Search Plugins. Hint: Make sure you type “pretty links” as two words. If you type in “prettylinks” you won’t get anything.
4. The current version, Pretty Link 1.4.33 should pop up at the top of the search. Go to the far right of the page under Actions and click Install.
5. Follow the installation instructions. But, once installed, you’re not quite done yet. ![]()
6. Look for the Settings tab and click it.
7. Scroll down and click on Permalinks.
8. Under Custom Settings, scroll down and change the Default Setting to Custom Structure. In the box to the right, type /%postname%/ .
9. Make sure you click Save Changes. That’s it! You can now cloak, shorten, and manage all your links! Congratulations!
And, I hope this adds some benefit to your Internet marketing business!
Rick
